Abortion pill mifepristone

They gave me this tablet an hour ago just wondering if anyone else has had the same done and if so what did you feel like and what happened? Will I miscarry or do I HAVE to take misoprostol the next day ? Because what happens if I don't turn up for the second tablet? Any one else ? Also am sorry if this offends anyone I really don't mean too please don't take it bad I am asking if anyone experience same and before you ask why wouldn't I take the second tablet it's not that I won't I just curious because the doctor said I can take this first tablet and it might pass out naturally or take the next one and then it will make it come out Again sorry to offend anyone x

@Veronica do I have to take second one will it not come out with this first one ?🩷

@incognito feel free to message if you need to talk x

You should have been given clear instructions. I had to take two.

They do different jobs so work together but generally not great alone. Mifepristone blocks progesterone production to make pregnancy unsustainable and the misoprostol induces contractions. Only taking the mifepristone may still end the pregnancy but delay the bleeding

I’ve had to take it for two miscarriages and both times I followed their directions and took the pills given to me when I was supposed to. I passed stuff after taking the first pill and after the second pill as well. I would just take both as if you don’t and you don’t pass it all you could have to go in for a D&C

@Ceri-Ann I'm 15 weeks pregnant so I should take the misoprostol. Shouldn't I :/ just heard it causes a lot of pain and I'm not sure how bad it is but I have a surgical abortion tomorrow and really scared

They do different jobs the first one stops it from growing any further and the second tablet makes your body pass it. I hope you’re ok I know people have views on this but I know this isn’t always black and white and can be the most difficult decision and thing to go through xxx

If the clinic have told you to take it you need to take it. If you have a surgical termination booked they are asking you to take it to help soften your cervix. The procedure likely won’t go ahead if you haven’t taken it as your cervix will be too difficult to dilate and increase the risk of cervical trauma which has long term effects
