Where is my ‘village’?

Does anyone feel like this? I feel like I’ve had zero support from family and friends since I had my baby. I thought my mum would be amazing and want to be here helping out all the time but I barely see her. People talk about how you need a village to raise a child but it’s literally just been me and my partner.

Same here. All the promises from family members when I was pregnant and them being excited blah blah blah. The novelty soon wore off after a few baby cuddles. My son is nearly 7.5 months and I could count on one hand how often some "close" family have seen him...

same here, only me and my partner, not a single soul to visit or even ask how we’re coping. Although, seeing how all the ‘family’ are disinterested, I’m thinking maybe it’s for the better because I wouldn’t want such unstable and artificial relations for my LO. I know we will be fine in the end, so just taking it slowly one day at a time, but it’s hard!

I feel you! It’s incredibly hard at times. Lack of sleep, back pain, trying to juggle house work. Trying to do self care and also raise a child. Would be lovely for my family to take him for a few hours but I guess they’re all busy with their own lives - its disappointing

Thank you everyone for helping me to feel like I’m not alone with this. I feel incredibly sad at how little people want to spend time with us.

Same here, just me and my husband. It's definitely exhausting not being able to have a break at all x

yep, no village here too, not even a partner to have some sort of adult interaction 😂 their loss!

Same. My village is flimsy at best because of this I don't want more kids.

It's not easy but worth it seeing our little ones grow and thrive each day 🥹❤️

Same here , only me and my partner at home and so far neither of us have had a break , apart from dad going off to work ! You’re not alone although it feels like you very much are . You’re doing an amazing job mumma keep it up 😘😘

This might sound silly, but do you ask for help? My mum is very good at letting me know she’s there if she’s wanted/ needed. But would never over step and just turn up, or ask to do specific things for us. She’s just in the background waiting to be asked.
