I was told by my doctor to give my son vitamin D while breastfeeding however when speaking to my MIL and mom they told me they didn’t give any of their kids vitamin D. Are yall give you babies it?

Nope, no one’s told me to?

Yes I’ve been told to give my baby vitamin D drops and also take vitamin D myself

if you’re exclusively breastfeeding most ppl do recommend putting vitamin d drops in it (just make sure you read the dosage) & taking it yourself is great for a number of reasons :) if you’re using any formula at all it’d be best not to bc it’ll make them constipated

Yes because I’m exclusively breastfeeding - although I only remember to do it a few times a week (should be every day). If you’re using formula you don’t need to.

I've been told the same, but have opted out. I just make sure to bring My LO out in the morning/evenings at sunrise and sunset and he is getting plenty.

I’m doing the drops (ebf) and i was told to do so at hospital. Most of my friends have done it too.

I did until we supplemented with formula. They probably didn’t give it because not much was known about the importance of vitamin d when they had kids so pediatricians didn’t know to recommend it. Babies don’t get vitamin d from sunlight for quite a while according to everything I’ve read.

I do EBF my baby and give Ddrops daily sometimes I miss it. Do check for dosage before starting

The advice in my area is to give it to babies if they're exclusively breastfed or if they're having less than 500ml of formula a day.

Yes I did while EBF
