Daycare 2nd week
So I got two kids in daycare two separate buildings my son(3) everytime I get him he seems to be happy and seems to be making friends or at least getting along with others , my daughter (4) is shy and teach told me she will play by her self or next to kids but not with them … is this normal? teacher told me once she gets to going more often she’ll be okay.
Yes definitely normal. My son hasn’t been in daycare since April & just started again last week in VPK . New kids, new environment, new teacher & It can be scary at first. I’ll watch my son on the camera sometimes while I’m at work & sometimes I’ll see him sitting by himself or if someone tries to play with him & they’re a little more aggressive/outgoing , he’ll , grab his toys & move somewhere else but if the kid is calm & more reserved like him, he’s more open & plays with them. Just like her teacher told you , it’ll take some time , the more familiar she is with the environment & kids around her, the more comfortable she’ll get, don’t rush It ! My son still throws a fit everytime I drop him off but only last until I’m out of sight . Then he calms down & goes to play. It’s tough & im sure you’re stressed the whole time she’s there with the thought that she’s not interacting but she’ll find her way!
