Fitting in fitness with work

How do you ladies fit in gym/fitness while working full time? I started working full time this week (prior to this I went gym 5-6 time a week) and I’m on day 4 now of no gym or working out. It’s hitting me hard! I’m up at 6:30am and work from 9-5pm, getting home at 6pm then doing all the mommy duties/housework etc. kids are in bed 7/8pm but my partner isn’t home from work until 10:30pm. There are 2 evenings a week he doesn’t work but going to the gym at 8/9pm (plus I don’t drive) just sounds unachievable to me. I’m starting to think I won’t be able to go gym ever again!

I feel the same way! I have a 11 month old and one due in Dec. Prior to kiddos I had no problem fitting it all in, whether it was early mornings, lunchtime, or right after work. I usually worked out 6 days a week and 1 active recovery day. With kids up all night I don’t have the motivation to get to the gym in the AM. At lunch I’d rather go home and do chores I can’t do when I have kids there. And I’m just absolutely exhausted after I put the kid to bed in the evenings. I’m 16 weeks pregnant and the 1st tri took all my energy. But here’s some tips I can think of for you and for myself after this baby comes. - home gym stuff (free weights, resistance bands, bike/treadmill) and maybe a peloton membership. I LOVE peloton. I choose to subscribe in addition to my gym membership. - trryyyyyyy to workout at lunch or in the evenings after the kiddos go down - early mornings at your gym when your partner is home to watch the kids?

I get up earlier in the morning and get it done. I workout at home though and when we kove closer to the crossfit box I want to join then I will be there early in the morning. I work full time and have 3 kids (ages 12, 9 and 3) and my oldest child is Autistic, as well as my middle child is Autistic/ADHD.

I workout during lunch at work. I do orange theory and there’s a gym near my work so I try to pop in a few days a week for the noon class. Is that something you could possibly do so you don’t lose any sleep?

Thanks everyone! I don’t drive and would have to travel 10-15mins to a gym so morning workouts would mean I have to leave superrr early to be back by 7am. My partner also does early shifts 3x a weekdays so he leaves at 5:45am :( I have 0 motivation for home workouts. I’ve tried so many times but hate them. That’s mostly because I weight train, so I’m not able to lift real weights at home like in the gym. It could be a possibility to go to a gym in my lunch break as there is one close but I’d only get maximum 45mins (1 hour lunch break but need to include time to get changed clothes)

I honestly invested in a home weight room. It’s the only way I am able to train with my crazy work schedule and 2 kids

Honestly my peloton changed my mind about home workouts. I have the tread but I do love the strength classes they have on there too. If you have room, a home gym room or garage might be a good thought for Christmas. You could start with a rack off of Facebook marketplace or something and add from there. We got a squat rack and bench for a couple hundred bucks about a year ago and it’s been really nice to have. We also have some random mirrors from the free section of marketplace that allow form checks. It’s not perfect but it’s something!

@Katie I know pelotons great but I focus on weight training in the gym so do a lot of squatting, hip thrusts, deadlifts etc where I really need the big gym equipment and weights :( I live in a tiny apartment so deffo no room for a home gym
