Working out 🏋🏽‍♀️

I am a first time mom and I have a question I’d like to ask without anyone judging me or making snobby comments. I have been having a really hard time trying to start back working out since I had my LO and now that he sleeps through the night(12 hours) and I have him on a schedule I’ve been contemplating on how to get back in the gym. I’m a single mom and I have sole custody. I do allow the dad visitation whenever he wants but that’s all for right now until he gets his own place. He works pretty much all the time and can only come around 7-8pm which is around my LO’s sleep time. I’m not complaining because I still want my son to have a relationship with his dad but it doesn’t leave me much room to workout since I’m trying to put the baby to sleep, feed him and bathe him. My apartment complex has a gym that I can use to lift weights and I have been contemplating on whether I should go workout while my LO is sleeping at night for just an hour 3 times a week. I do have a camera set up in my babies room so I can see him and check on him. But I wanted to know what other moms would do in this situation. I have never left him alone to do so but I am curious to know if anyone has done something similar. Again the gym is in my complex and a 2 minute walk from my unit.

I don’t see a reason why that should be a problem. Some people got just really big houses where they have to go the garage to work out and then it’s not a problem either 🤷🏻‍♀️

We got a gym upstairs in our apartment complex also and I was thinking about the same thing but my lo doesn’t sleep that long so I can’t do it yet 😂

If I was in your situation, I would probably go work out so long as the camera connection works in the gym. I’m paranoid and I would still do it. I would probably just have my eye on it like a hawk haha

I totally think it’s dependent on a few things ! 1) how safe is the complex? 2) does your monitor reach the right distance? If you feel it’s safe and you will still be able to see him from the gym so you can go as needed, I wouldn’t judge! Plus it’s great for your mental health.

I think it’s totally fine! I have a friend that does game nights with their neighbors in their apartment complex and they leave the baby and walk a few units down and bring the monitor. I also am going to cabo next week and am asking for a room that is on the first floor, just steps from the pool so i can get a lawn chair and be by the pool but still with the monitor.

I invested in a treadmill and weights to workout with at home. That way I can workout as long as I can without worrying about my baby since she’s in the other room

Thank you everyone! I feel so much better lol I have two cameras in my babies room one with a monitor I keep in my room and then the other I can open up the app and look at it on my phone. My community is also gated and very quiet, I would say it’s a very safe area as there hasn’t been any crime since I’ve been here the last 3 years. I already lack the motivation to workout so when I go to the gym and see other ppl it gives me the push I need versus staying home and working out. My workout journey has been a challenge even before my baby

I mean... hinestly if the gym is in the same complex and 5 minutes or less that you can just run back if he wakes up.. i think is fine. We have paid a baby sitter to be with our sleeping baby but when we have ti actually drive somwhere... like.. we would not get home in at least 15 min if we had to rush back. I heard people in europe just leave their sleeping babies home and go on o do their things outside.
