Feeling lonely

Does anyone else feel quite lonely? I’ve always been pretty happy in my own company and obviously I now have my baby for company but sometimes the days can feel so long. It feels a bit like I’ve been forgotten about by everyone. Family are retired but make very little effort to see us unless I arrange it with them and go to their houses. Friends are working and I do have mum friends and go to groups but I just feel quite low and lonely sometimes.

Totally understand how you feel. I’ve always been one to enjoy my own company also but I think what bothers me is everyone saying how much they will be there for you when you’re pregnant but don’t bother with you once baby is born. I’m very lucky that I have a very supportive family I’d be lost without them. I spend most my time making plans with my mum, sister and niece as sad as it sounds. I also have made a few mum friends that I speak to more than any of my long standing friends. As for partners family they live 30 seconds away and never make an effort, only if I go to them. I just try to cherish the time with baby as much as possible, it’s hard though when you feel alone, sending hugs as I know how you feel🩷

@Caitlin it doesn’t sound sad at all, I’m jealous! My mum lives around the corner and is retired but doesn’t spend much time with us at all.

My best friend at the moment seems to be my mother in law, she seems to be the only person that gets me and knows how tough things can be. She brought up 3 boys and is a tough cookie. She still works but always says she is there for me when she can. Still it can be very lonely and times. Especially through difficult nights. Feel free to message me if you want someone to chat to. This is my second baby, I also have a 3 yr old girl.

@Emma thank you x

I feel exactly the same! And with family mine don’t live local but my boyfriends side make no effort unless we make the effort and I’m done with it. They never come to see us. I’ve started to go to more baby groups just so I can get out the house. It’s hard seeing my friends doing all these things online and not one of them thinks to invite me out it’s quite hard. I know money is tight but if they give me enough notice then I can save money to meet them. The friend I have that has a kid I thought me having a baby would bring us close but I hardly ever hear from her now it’s quite sad

@Katie I’m so sorry you feel the same ❤️

It’s fine, I’ve kinda of got used to how lonely this whole thing is. Sometimes I can handle it and sometimes I have my bad days where I just cry all day.

@Katie sending you lots of love, I know how you feel ❤️

If you ever need anyone to message I’m always here x
