How do people manage it?

I see you at the end of my tether when it comes to money as a single parent. I have a really well paying job, and my daughter only does three days of nursery a week. I don’t pay for netflix, takeaway coffees, or takeaways. I got rid of my car. I have nothing else to give up! My shower has just broken and I can’t afford to get a plumber, or pay the water bill! Sorry a bit of a rant but how are we meant to cope?

Do you just work the 3 days she goes to nursery or do you work full time?

If you receive any universal credit they can give you a loan up to like £900 for things like this. You pay it back like £50 a month:) But yeah, it’s a nightmare at the moment. I’m a grown woman having to ask my dad to help me buy groceries at the end of each month

@Megan I work full time

@Lydia I don’t get UC as I earn alot, that’s what I don’t understand, I should be comfortable? It is so degrading isn’t it?

I don't know where you are based but It might be worth contacting Depher - they are emergency plumbing for people who are struggling. Whose your water provider there is a few that have their own grants

@Eline thanks I will look at these!
