As a Mom , who else stays away from both sides of the family?

That’s a very lonely and isolating way to live, I couldn’t do it. If you’re happy doing that and don’t get lonely or isolated then that’s all that matters. My kids and family is onIy 70% of my happiness the other 15% comes from friends and the last 15% comes from my hobbies. I’m very social. As long as you won’t make a post saying “motherhood is so lonely, I don’t have anyone to talk to besides my partner” then keep doing you. There’s nothing wrong w it unless you are unhappy w it

Whatever makes you happy. I find both sets of parents very stressful, dramatic and feel better when away from them, we see them few times year but mainly just us as our own little family. It's mainly down to fall outs, disagreements and their attitude that created the hole

I couldn't do that. I'm very close to both sides of the family and have friends I visit often. But if it suits you there's nothing wrong with it

I stay away from my in-laws because they get on my nerves. My parents live next door to me and I love it. They also know me, and we all have boundaries that are respected. My in-laws don't do that, which is why I stay away from them.

I need to socialize…I could never do that. To each their own

I don’t socialize with them but definitely want my kids to grow up around family. My parents isolated me from everyone and it was so lonely. I went to my grandmas funeral yesterday whom my dad took me around maybe a total of 5 times as a kid and I met so many cousins I have and honestly it made me feel really bad that I had so much family Ive never met and they apparently all live close by ❤️‍🩹 —- don’t isolate your kids from family if u dont have to
