Mexican food

My boyfriend’s currently working on meals to start a restaurant that serves most types of food(Atleast what we can cook) he’s from California but his dads from Puebla and his moms from Guerrero, so those are the types of things he can make, but he realizes in Texas it’s all Tex mex (which he’s not used to but he likes it and understands its its own twist on Mexican food) So we’re looking for ideas from other people from Mexico or that grew up going to Mexico. What was your favorite meal or snack that you’d buy in Mexico? Not things you buy at the store but things people cooked. What’s something that you really miss and no where in America gets it right? Thanks for any feedback 💖💖

Churros.served warm ropes of light fluffy dough that was rolled in just the perfect ratio of cinnamon sugar and the best hot chocolate I've ever drank it was thick and had a hint of cinnamon and dark chocolate like drinking a candy bar. I've not been able to recreate either of them to perfection yet but the quest continues....good luck! Add extra love in every dish and it'll turn out fine! Thats what my granny always said.

Flautas, mole, carnitas

I just want to say, as a native Texan, we LOVE street Mexican food too. Texmex is very popular but so is traditional cuisine. Texans love their taquerias for this reason. Tamales were always my favorite food that my friends Abuelas would make. Nothing like a tamale from a Mexican gramma.

Not really a meal but FRUIT omg it just hits different over there 😫

I'm neither Texan nor Mexican, but as a Dominican I love Tamales 🫔 😋
