Mediterranean Diet and PCOS?

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was in my early 20s, tried birth control to help, it didn’t, and I recently had my yearly physical. My liver enzymes were extremely elevated and my PCP suggested a Mediterranean diet to help lower my levels. Has anyone had any success following a Mediterranean diet and has it helped your PCOS?

The pcos specialist I saw recommened a Low Glycaemic Index (GI) Diet because we process sugar differently to others

My gynecologist suggested low carb, low sugars and high protein diet.
