Following, my little one is suffering awfully!

I believe they dont make piriton/antihistamines for under ones. My gp and dietician both said to use piriton so i mentioned how its not meant for under 1s and both said its ok to use as long as directions are followed and its only used if they really need it. Hope this helps x

@Hermione no they don't there is no antihistamines for under 1 years old but I was unsure if they could have it as I know there is a certain antihistamine that isn't safe for babies, yeah it does thank you I will only use it if they have a allegic reaction I'm currently weaning and one of my twins has quite a few allergies and she gets so bad xx

My little boy is 10 months old. He has cmpa also soya, gluten and fish allergy so piriton has definitely come in handy for us we have never had any issues with using it either☺️xx

We use allereif which the gp prescribed but this was for hayfever Chemist told me they aren't allowed to sell it for under 1s and has to be prescribed which my Dr said I could buy it but I told him I couldn't My chemist also told me to use it when my LG had a reaction and said it should help soothe it Actually tastes really nice too 😂

My little one is nearly 8 months and has 2.5ml of piriton for his eczema(doctor advised dose in morning then dose before bed) and was originally prescribed it for his reaction to wheat x

If you are in the UK, chlorphenamine is the only one authorised for under 2s. But in other countries you can give them others, which in fact are better.

My little boy is 8 months and our Allergy consultant prescribed us a bottle of children’s Piriton, it is for under 1s but he said 1ml is fine to use. We’ve had to use it once so far and it worked a treat. I think it’s only under prescription though x

Thank you everyone, I am truing to get the gp to prescribe it but am unable to get a appointment so allergist and dietician said I could buy it from thr pharmacy, as soon as you mention it is for a babu under a year they refuse service but wit one of my girls already having so many allergies I thought it would br good idea just to have it in the home xx

When we picked ours up from the chemist they wasn’t too happy about it but gave us it because the hospital allergist had written the prescription x

@Rebekah I think if it's being used correctly then it's not a problem but I have heard some people give it to babies to get them to sleep x

My brother is a dr and he gave my 10 month old 6+ piriton as that’s all he had but only gave her 1ml as he worked out the dosage x
