Everything you are feeling is NORMAL! I found when my little one was the same age, I didn’t want to have to travel. I followed RWL before during and after pregnancy. They have a 12w post natal programme. I still use these 18m later and I’ve never felt so good! There is workouts, recipes and a mindset section! https://rwl.fitness/invite?utm_aff=osborne129918&Fname=Kerry
Hey, I’m a pre/ postnatal trainer (not looking to pick up clients but very happy to offer free advice). The first thing I would do is check your abdominal separation - I can DM you instructions on how to do this. Then, I’d start by just getting walking. You could join a gym which includes childcare, or start with home workouts. It really does depend on what you have available to you and what you feel most comfortable doing. It’s totally understandable to lose confidence, I felt SO nervous heading back into a gym! I started at home, built up some strength and then went back. There are quite a few options and ways you can get moving 🙂. If you’re happy, we can chat in DM’s and I’ll give you advice on how to start back which is specifically for you. C xx
Hey 👋🏼 I have created a FB group with few girls from here and we’re starting a 16 week Pilates + Strength program from next week if you fancy joining? It might help you with motivation and keeping accountable. If you’re interested let me know and I’ll share a group link
@Karolina could I join please?x
@Shedonée I completely feel this! I’m now 7m PP and here’s a few snippets of my journey I lifted heavy weights and ran my whole pregnancy until 40 weeks, birthed at 42 weeks. Just for context. I first started with some home deep core simple work outs whilst baby was 0-3 months old. Focusing on breathing. I followed a girl called Naturally Stephanie who had a good simple few excerises. I then trialed joining a gym who would let me take baby to classes but found these were just not suitable as they didn’t focus on regaining the core strength I needed and were more HITT type. Which wasn’t the best for me. I then started to go to the gym after thoose classes and using the quiet room and taking baby with me. The work outs were basic light weight variety of compound lifting focusing on breath. Sometimes it would take me 2 hours due to baby care needs. As baby got bigger I decided to invest my money into a second hand squat rack. And some weights (total of about £300)
But was a long run saving as I was spending money on fuel and gym ect. Best thing I’ve done.
Now I can have baby next to me at home and do my weights. I’ve also got a baby jogging pram- the Thule urban glide. Which I use everyday for all sorts of fun walks. But I’m also now running 20 k a week with it, which has been game changing mentally for me. Best investment. I also use my baby carriers to get weighted walking in, focusing on breathing and core alignment. Of course in an ideal world we could just work out without baby..in a gym… but I EBF and my husband is always away with work so we have to be creative.
@Margaret of course hun here’s the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/923793629518280
@Margaret thank you so much for sharing. I have started walking again with baby, so I will definitely try out working at home and maybe getting more equipment. I already have a barbell and dumbell but will definitely look into getting a squat rack.
I exercise first thing in the morning at home while my baby is playing next to me or watching TV (that’s only allowed screen time). We need to look after ourselves to be able look after our families :)
