Pelvic floor exercises

I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and don’t know how often I should be doing the pelvic floor exercises and for how long a time. Also do you need to increase the amount the further you are?

The NHS has a great app called the Squeezy app. I saw a pelvic floor pt and she recommended this and doing two different exercises 3-4 times a day. One exercise is a slower hold and release and you do 10 reps of whatever you can handle and build up over time and the second exercise is a quick hold and release. It’s all in the app. Hope this helps!

It's also really important to stretch and relax your pelvic floor when it comes to birth. You PF doesn't push your baby out, your uterus does and you PF needs to be in a relaxed state not a contracted one. There's loads of pelvic health people you can follow on Instagram

@Libby Rose thank you so much xx

@Charlie thank you so much x

If you can see a woman’s health physio that might be helpful, like libby said the Squeezy app is good x

I dunno I just did them 2-3* a day, I sat on my gym ball cross legged up until the end of pregnancy while watching tv so that was another way I got to tone my core and PV.
