Possibly stupid weaning question

Do we really need to steam veggies? I don’t have a steamer so will need to buy one. And what do people do re a blender? Again I don’t currently have one so need to buy one. Just feel totally clueless as to what gadgets I’ll need for weaning 😭

You can boil and mash with a fork just as well x

You can boil or roast 🙂

So steaming is just if you want to make sure you’re keeping in all the nutrients?

I boil and then blend in a smooth maker but a stick blender works aswell. My baby refuses any lumps so mashing with a form just didn’t do the job

If you have a stainless steel colander or sieve you can steam veg in that over a saucepan of boiling water. We have a supermarket kitchen hand blender, doesn't take up too much space.

I do what Emma has suggested and just steam it in a colander over a saucepan. Steaming is the best option as yes it keeps the nutrients in. If you decide to boil instead just use minimal water so you don’t pour loads of the goodness away

I always just boil my veg and did do the same with my 12 year old…at the end of the day you are still feeding them healthy nutritious food so i wouldn’t worry too much if you don’t have all these gadgets! X
