No talking at 16 months

I do understand every child is different but when all I keep seeing is all kids her age saying words and all mine can say is dada and she doesn't even want to say that.she can talk I've heard her say the odd word. Frustrates me so much though. Doesn't bother dad and in theory it shouldn't bother me it just does :(

This is so tough, it's hard not to compare to other kids isn't it! There are so many variables when it comes to speech development and there really is only a rough guide when it comes to what your kid "should" be doing at each stage. I wouldn't start to be concerned personally until she reaches two, especially if she is communicating in other ways. At which point, I would probably start looking at some help from a speech therapist. That being said, there is no harm in looking into these things now, speaking to your HV or GP. Does she babble or communicate in other ways like signing? Does she watch any YouTube learning channels or TV shows? Does she go to nursery and if so, have they raised any concerns?

No not nursery as can't find one that will take her on with 15 hour funding as everywhere is stretching it and can only do Stevenage. She points and responds to things by babbling. I'm not worried just frustrated. She will say a word but then won't say it again
