PPD

Mamas what you do to get yourselves out of ppd? To feel like you’re not losing yourself. I’m on medication for it. I don’t have a big village to help. I’m just lost.

I find things to do around the house, go visit my mom, read stuff I never thought about reading . Try new recipes out too cooking helps me a lot

Get outside! Change of scenery can be great and getting some sun and fresh air will make things at least 1% better. Incorporate things you enjoyed before being a mom, start small, 5-10 minutes at a time! Take care of yourself, have some tea, read a book, listen to some music and dance, whatever works for you. A little goes a long way and slowly you may have more energy to take on more activity. Talk to your loved ones and try a therapist if you don’t already have one

I listen to music- my favorite playlists from college and just after give me the most endorphins. Make or order nice food-treat myself. Go for a walk-I’m not an outdoorsy person but I always feel better afterward. Pelvic floor exercises to prepare to return to the gym. Not that I’m a gym rat but it was my ‘me time’ place- that’s what I look forward to.

I’m lucky enough to have a BFF that comes over and just sits with me and the baby for a few hours once a week and listens to me talk. Or even every once in a while treat yourself to a coffee or a drink from Sonic. Listen to some music in the car with baby. That helps me. Just getting out and doing something for a bit “normal.” Getting ready to go out with baby is a new struggle sometimes but even if it’s a trip through the drive thru so you can go comfy and enjoy some music. (Going shopping just me and my baby gives me too much anxiety. Lol) If you can take a walk with the baby in the stroller.
