IUD Removal

I am thinking of getting my Liletta IUD removed because I have an increase of appetite and got really bad acne. I used to have glass skin and the acne is making me feel insecure and not confident. It also pinches my BD so we haven't done it ever since😅I got this hormonal IUD for birth control and the upside is I dont get periods. Are these valid reasons to remove the IUD and just stick with condoms? Any advice or thoughts

Well sure you should consider just using condoms, however there is a reason you chose the IUD in the first place and we all know there are effects and results to everything. I currently have the IUD I have had a more than 3 times I chose to still with it because me and my husband just rather not use condoms and have a higher chance of protection.

At the end of the day it’s your choice in what you want and what you believe is best for yourself. But there is also the ParaGard (copper IUD) which is a non hormonal. Just if you do remove it just know that if let’s say 6 months after the removal and you decide that you want the IUD again that insurance may not cover it. Some insurances will make you wait a certain period of time before that’s will cover it again. I seen that issue a lot in the clinic I worked at. Sorry for being so lengthy but hope this helps

Try the patch I love it and used to do the pills years ago but they weren't for me

@Dakkota very informational. thank you!

The copper IUD is great, no hormones. I had it for 10 years before having my baby and had no issues with it.

I had the Skyla IUD a few years back and got horrible acne so I took it out. After I took it out I didn’t notice any improvement with my skin, unfortunately I think it takes a while for your hormones to regulate after having a baby. Plus breastfeeding impacts your hormones too. Now I have two babies and am back on birth control (Liletta IUD). So personally my experience has been that my skin just doesn’t like when I’m breastfeeding and postpartum. Birth control is so unnatural and throws off our bodies so ultimately that’s a decision you’ll have to make as far as if you’d rather use alternative protection or non hormonal bc. I hope you find what works and makes you feel better! I’m in the same boat with struggling with self image!! Acne is no fun. :(
