Gender divide

Anyone else fed up with the gender divide in 2024. My partner went out for the 1st time with both 2 under 2s he got all the praise, well dones, encouragement and sympathy when they cried. I go out daily not once have I got any words of encouragement not even from family. Fed up men can do the bare minimum and are told they are a good dad but women could do the world for their children and family and that’s just seen as normal. Sorry for the rant!

Personally I think if we want things to change, we should be encouraging men when we see them with their children. At the same time, mothers deserve the same praise, so I can see why it might be frustrating.

Don’t get me wrong I think men should be encouraged but so should women. Birth trauma, PPD, postpartum issues, career hit, social demands, body changes etc and that’s just some of the issues that affect women after child birth but it’s expected we just carry on as normal and just look after our children so why should men be baby cuddled to do the same with a lot less demands.

Arg! So agree with you!! My brother is a stay at home dad.. and my own mother calls me regularly to tell me “how hard he has it” and that my brothers wife comes home after working a full day to ‘sit on the couch’ and not help him with dinner. 🤦🏽‍♀️ … I just can’t have these conversations with her. The disparity is outrageous

If you need to laugh, this song sums it up SO WELL https://youtu.be/pfltmHtqdzM?si=DhMXN__i5ixQhKp1

Also agree I also have two kids under 2 and it’s hard for me especially when I go out with them I got dirty looks and hearing shit but when my partner goes out it’s nothing but kind words and be like where’s the mom or awww your doing it alone
