Missing the old me

Missing the old me I feel fat and ugly I don’t have my confidence back and I’m 3 months pp. I hate the stretch marks and my C-section scars. Does anyone else feel this way how do I get out of this funk?

In all seriousness you’re 3months pp, not trying invalidate you, but in all serious want you to understand what a major medical trauma it and to give yourself time to heal properly without added expectations.

@courtney thank you for that perspective. It’s hard seeing others get back up faster than you after having a baby

@Zipporah I agree thank you I love my baby so much 🥹

@Bre please remember what you see: social media, glimpses of an hour or two, isn’t always reality. Many people struggle but are good at or even stress at hiding it. Just bc you don’t prioritize image doesn’t make you lesser.

@Bre i was just feeling this way i seen some people back to pre pregnancy weight that had babies around the same time as me and here i am still the same as i been 2 months ago

I'm 9 weeks pp and I feel the same. My stomach used to be flat and now I have the "c section shelf" with stretch marks from my belly button down to my vagina. I am horrified when I look in the mirror 😢

@Dianna I had a friend who was always super skinny, she bounced back like it was nothing within 2 weeks while I was having my second and was a whale. Was definitely a mind duck but also completely natural.

@Dianna I lost 40 pounds but I’m struggling to lose the extra 25

@Ellie what’s been helping me a lot bit with the stretch marks is bio oil it’s $20 at target it takes 3 months for you to see results I have stretch marked on my tummy and they are fading slightly. I don’t even want to be intimidate with my husband I feel disturbed looking at myself

@courtney sending you a virtual hug you are so kind

@Bre thank you! Thankfully I’m over it now but at the time I was going through it.

@courtney I hope to be where you are mentally in the future:)

They say it takes 9m to feel normal again coz that’s how long you carried the baby and how long it took you to get to your biggest w the baby…some women take longer and some women take quicker but at 2-3m, our journey to get your body back (if thats your goal) has only really just started, you’ve just got out of 4th trimester so if you focus from now and put effort in for your physical health I’m sure those efforts will pay off in the next couple months. When I wore tight dresses PP I always wore spanx under to give the illusion of a nicer body, I got compliments PP but what people didn’t know was that I was wearing spanx under 😂🙈 so in the meantime you could do that. And I started exercises and home workouts around that time also. Started to focus more on me since the first 3m was establishing BF and getting to know babys cues and settling in to the new life etc. Giving yourself a goal for the next year and being consistent is what normally works xx

@Kellie definitely need to try workouts thank you!!

I am feeling the exact same way and my beautiful girl is 1 month old.

It took me a full year to start feeling myself I was really down about it and felt very fed up and upset with myself but I did start to come back a bit just slowly over time. I think its the adjustment of parenting and a new part of you as well as the physical changes and its a lot to get your head around. Hope you start to feel a bit better soon ❤️

@courtney it is fr and i had to remind myself we are all different

@Bre thats good actually better than me im only half way where i want to be

I’m feeling the same I’m 6 months PP. I got home from the hospital at 195lb and I’m still 195 it’s frustrating but eventually the weight will come off I think when I’m done breastfeeding. Give yourself some grace it’s only been 3 months since you had your baby, your body just did an amazing and absolutely insane thing growing a baby from scratch moving your organs around to fit the baby and stretching your skin to home this baby so it’s going to take a while for your body to go back!

@Brooke congratulations on your beautiful baby!

@Sophie thank you so much !

@Dianna you’ll definitely get where you want to be :)

@Alexis thank you I hope we can start feeling better and more confident soon!
