I think just explaining that you want some time to settle in now that he’s home is all that it will take. They are excited but hopefully will understand.
Just here to say my baby boy was also born at three weeks and we also spent 19 days in the NICU. I’m so glad y’all were discharged and get to go home!
We just told people we are not accepting guests just yet. Nothing they can really do to be honest except respect your wishes.
I made everyone wait 2 weeks minimum and then they had to be in masks to hold him. He was born 30+2, discharged 36+1. Now 41+3, or a week and a half adjusted
I found most people gave us space with little push back. "We need to settle in and find our footing." Was what I said often and I got a lot of "just let us know when you're ready we'd love to see you." When it came to my parents and sister that was a little different but I didn't have to voice much for them to give us some space.
