Ectopic surgery last week

I had Right tube removal surgery last week due to ectopic pregnancy, the hospital told me to take a pregnancy test in 3 weeks - I’ve taken one today and it’s negative , I’m grateful in a weird way as hoping my cycle starts to go back to normal My question is , how did your cycles vary after ectopic? I had an exactly 28 day cycle every month before Ectopic was exactly 5 months to the date after the miscarriage and my first cycle was longer and then the rest fell to between 28-30 days following.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I suffered an ectopic April 2022 and lost my left tube. My cycles did change a little bit, they were roughly 28 -30 days but they were shorter so only lasted 4-5 days when before they were 7-8 days but I am regular. It might take a while for them to come back even with a negative and it may be painful as the insides are bruised but it should subside, hope this helps. Hospital and Dr don't give a lot of after care advice and what to expect afterwards

@Rebecca Louise thank you for your reply! Sorry for your loss too xx Luckily my periods were only ever 4 days and I suffered with pain every month (I have medication for it) anyway so feel like it can’t get worse 🙈🙈 after my miscarriage in November the first cycle was 46 days so that’s kind of what I’m expecting- yes I have all my after care and have had a good read just wanted some more personal experiences as after my miscarriage scan they said my endometrial lining was already gearing up for ovulation but I then didn’t ovulate for over 30 days after! None of my miscarriages/this ectopic have followed the usual “symptoms of” so reading about it etc doesn’t add up to what my body wants to do 😬🙃🤯 xxx

I didn’t have an ectopic pregnancy, but I did lose both of my fallopian tubes to an infection caused by a prior surgery. If your question is more whether the loss of the tube will affect your period in any way, I haven’t noticed a difference between when I had them both and now that I don’t. I am so sorry for your loss and wish you a speedy recovery ❤️

@Lizz hi Lizz oh my so sorry for your loss, loosing both fallopian tubes is still a loss - it is good to know it probably won’t affect my cycle , I am praying it doesn’t , the female body still amazes me 🙏🏻🙏🏻

@Ruby if it makes you feel better too I still got pregnant afterwards! ❤️ I had to go through IVF, but it’s definitely still possible 🥰

Thank you all for your replies it’s really helpful 🙏🏻🥰 let’s hope my cycle comes back before my holiday in June and not whilst I’m on it 😅😅

I’m so sorry you’re going through this! My cycle took 5.5 weeks to come back after surgery and it went from a normal 6/7 day one to a 3 day cycle every month. I’m now 33+5 weeks pregnant with a baby girl🥰

@Jayde congratulations!! I hope this is me later in the year 🙏🏻 my holiday is in 4.5 weeks so I hope my cycle doesn’t return then but returns before just for my holiday 😂😂 but that’s just me being selfish! With my first miscarriage it took about 5 weeks to return xx

@Ruby sending you all of the future baby dust✨💞xx

@Jayde thank you 🥰🫶🏻 xxx

Used some Ovulation tests and hit my peak today 🥳 period should come (if not pregnant) before my holiday, thank goodness 🙏🏻🙏🏻😅
