When my daughter was born it was just me and my fiance no family around, so I get to overwhelm feeling
Hi Gina! So sorry to hear you’re feeling a little overwhelmed and lonely without your family close… I’m in the same boat, my husband is back to work and my family lives 12 hours away so I’m home alone with our 3 week old son. We lived only an hour from my parents until last September, so it’s been a huge learning curve without them just a drive away. I work from home, so no local friends either. It’s very challenging, but we can do it! Your feelings are completely valid, don’t discount them to hormonal changes! It’s not easy having a long distance village postpartum
I’m 2 hours from family but my mom comes once a week and stays a day or two which I’m so grateful for. I’m scared for when hubby goes back to work and it’s just me and the babe.. you’re not alone I cried for a good two weeks lol
Hey, I’m from a different country and I live in the United States with just my husband. He’s American and all his family is here but my entire family is still in my home country. It’s really rough having a newborn and no family around. My husband is back to work and I have been taking care of the baby full-time. Even though his family wants to help it’s not the same as your own family.
We also have no family close to us. It’s definitely overwhelming sometimes but my husband and I both share the load so it’s doable, it’s gives us a chance to each get some time to ourselves when needed.
