PPROM and bleeding

Hi all 🫶🏻 I ppromed at 17 weeks, we are now 18 weeks and 4 days. I’ve been losing blood clots, and bleeding heavily on and off since last Saturday.. I’ve been in the hospital since then as they did let me out for two days and the bleeding started again.. my cervix is open from baby’s side and there’s sludge inside it.. my cervix is still closed vaginal side and I’ve not went into labour yet. I’m getting cramping from all the bleeding on being on bed rest.. they’ve told me if I need a blood transfusion before baby is viable, I’ll have to let her go 😣 her hearts still beating and she’s nor got much fluid left although she keeps making more 💔 they said they could maybe intervene at 22 weeks if she lives that long and I don’t end up unwell with an infection but that’s only if she comes out breathing 😢 Does anyone have any happy stories ? Or a story similar to mine ?xx

Hey..I’m so sorry because I know how difficult this is. I am currently 22+3 and I PPROMed at 16+1. I haven’t had any bleeding and my cervix is closed so sorry I’m not able to comment much on that part. All I can say is that I was being told to terminate and have only been told of all the possible risks and complications but my baby still has a strong heartbeat so I will give my baby every chance I can. I continue to leak every other day. I know there are many stories out there where woman have literally been on complete bed rest and increased fluid intake and it has helped. I hope everything goes well for you and baby 💗💗💗 If you want to chat you can message me xxx

I contacted Ciara from Little Heartbeats (Facebook) and she gave me so much hope!! She put me into contact with a Dr from St Thomas’ Hospital in London where I have had two MRI scans with 4 weeks gap and has shown baby to be developing. Xx

I pprom’d at 20 weeks after having a stitch due to my cervix being short. I was also told to terminate and all the risks with low fluid, infection etc etc. I had an amazing team around me, I was supported by Oxford MfM doctors and my little girl made it to 38 weeks where she was delivered via a c section! Xx

@Nikki Hey so nice to hear that you and your little girl are doing so well. It’s amazing to hear of success stories - are there any tips or advice you can provide for those of us currently going through this? My hospital has not given me any antibiotics despite my bloods sometimes being slightly elevated. Were you admitted to hospital and if so at what point? Also was your little girl measuring all correctly according to dates throughout the rest of the pregnancy? Xx

I have no advice as this didn’t happen to me. But I just wanted to say I’m praying for all you ladies tonight🙏 Jesus can and has done miracles! Sending you all so much love and prayers🙏🩷🩵❤️

Any updates on this ? Sending you prayers 🙏 ❤️

@Amber hi honey. 💓 we have made it to 20 weeks so far, baby’s fluid has went back upto 9cm, biggest pool being 2.4cm which docs are happy with. I’m still bleeding and have been told I have a low lying placenta which is causing the bleeding and clots. We have a goal to get to 36 weeks but as my waters did indeed break I’m on modified rest, weekly bloods and growth scans for signs of infection and checking on baby. She’s doing really well, her heartbeat has never faltered once and she’s growing 🥺🫶🏻 we are putting our faith in her and I’m doing everything I can to be the best incubator as long as I possible can 💓 Thankyou for checking up on us xx

@Jade Moore aww that is the most positive news ! I'm so pleased for you! I will continue to pray for you and your girl for a safe delivery! Your being so strong and brave! What amazing news! I'm day 11 on bed rest at the moment so just getting into the swing of things and a routine ! It's mentally challenging but that boost of the weekly check ups gives you the positivity you need to carry on! Xx

That’s such good news! I’ll keep praying for you both🙏🩷

@Amber Thankyou honey ! I’m rooting for you ! 🫶🏻💓 rest and take plenty of water. I’ve stocked up on loads of vitamins just to stop infection spreading too ! Keep me upto date xx

@Olivia Thankyou so much my darling xxx💓

Hit 22 weeks and doing really well 😄🙌🏻 another two weeks until viability 💓🥺

@Henna sorry I’ve only just seen this. My advise would be listen to the doctors rest, and as hard as it is relax! I was in antibiotics for the first 3 weeks after I pprom’d but then was taken off them and just monitored weekly. I didn’t have any internal examinations unless there was no other option. I think from 30 week my little girl started to slow down in growth and by 36 weeks my fluid was low so I was monitored even more and the decision was made to get her out at 38 weeks. She was born 6lb 15oz. X

@Henna how are you doing now ?

How are you Lovely🩷🩷
