Babysitter for occasional events

Hi everyone! I am new to the area and hope to visit some musical events in Toronto this summer. But I have no clue how to find a babysitter that I can trust. Do you have any experience on finding babysitter for rare late night care? Could you share your experience or give me an advice, please 🙂. How do you manage leave toddlers heading off for late night events?

I used to babysit in the area. I used a site called care.com to get hired from. Its fairly decent with straining out the scammers and crazies but I think any time you hire a stranger, you take a chance on reliability. I'd suggest a meet-and-greet plus a short trial babysit or two before you leave your kids alone at night with anyone.
