Baby refusing formula

My 7 week old drink breastmilk regularly, and tonight I’ve had to supplement with formula due to one of my momcozy pumps randomly stop working. The other pump still works fine, and I am an over-supplier and usually have 2 extra bottle in the fridge but today my supply is lower for some reason plus it’s taking me longer to pump today since I’m now using 1 pump for 2 breasts. but he will not swallow the formula. It’s not spit up, he just literally spits it out from his mouth and it streams down to his chest. He doesn’t do this when I breastfeed or give him breastmilk. He is drenched in formula from every formula feed and it’s frustrating when he is hungry crying at the same time. I don’t know if it’s because he doesn’t like the formula or if it’s coming out of the bottle too fast (but that’s usually not a problem with breastmilk) Would slow feeding bottles help? Should I try a different formula brand? I don’t like that I have to wipe his cheek every 2 seconds to keep him dry, that must be uncomfortable for him. Has anyone experienced this

What formula are you supplementing with? You’re only using mom cozy’s atm to pump?

Do you have any breastmilk you can mix in with the formula to help with the transition? I’ve never tried this but I saw something about it online. Maybe you could try something like that before trying to switch formula since formula is so expensive these days and you probably don’t want to waste it?! My baby wasn’t getting enough milk to start so when I had to begin supplementing it wasn’t too much of a problem. It was clear she’d prefer the breastmilk but she didn’t spit it all out because she was hungry. I use the Kendamil formula and it works well!

@Kali I have enfamil a+, the liquid formula to supplement when I need (sometimes at nighttime since I don’t pump at night) I usually just pump milk with 2 momcozy s9 since I make so much milk.

@Morgan yes I do, I’ve been mixing it and he was still spitting it out but maybe because It was more formula than milk. I just got 12 ounces from my first morning pump session so I’ll be able to store an extra bottle and get back on track today with only feeding breastmilk

I mean breast milk is sweeter the less milk more formula theory sounds pretty good. Maybe it’s the type of formula? Have you tried the gentle ease or maybe another brand? I know you don’t use it often so it’s kind of a 50-50 shot
