Really Stressed

I'm feeling really conflicted. My OB has been observing my blood sugar levels and most of my number are good with the exception of it being a little during fasting period, when I check it in the morning. My OB suggests that I get an induction on the 28th.So far baby has doing good until I saw a high risk doctor the other day and she got us(mostly me) worried about what she was saying. She talked about how the placenta is not working properly and baby could be a risk of stillbirth and that I should deliver ASAP. My boyfriend was upset on how she was trying to scare us into going to the hospital and it was our first time seeing this lady. We talked my OB and now she's saying I should consider delivering ASAP. I'm upset about how for months of going to my OB and appointments there was no alarm throughout my pregnancy. I'm currently 38 weeks and I just feel very conflicted about the information that was given to me. This is my first pregnancy and I just don't want blindly make decisions out of fear. My boyfriend has grown children and 6 year old and said that the mother had more issues in their pregnancy but went on to have a normal birth. As of now, I decided to wait till the date of induction the 28th and we are getting a 2nd opinion.

I would get induced but I don’t think doing asap would be a problem unless they see more problems. But for me I would definitely get induced just because my sugar levels wouldn’t be fully controlled and I wouldn’t want to risk anything. Even if you went right now you are full term so it’s ever better because you know baby is good now and everything is looking good. Who knows what could happen in the next few days or weeks. Stuff like that.

I will trust doctors for the most part but also take into count what I think. Being induced she there are risks but so is waiting. Whether it’s a healthy pregnancy or not.

Please research both the pros and cons beforedeciding. Our doula suggested this site (evidence based birth). It may be a good place to start and all the info comes from vetted research. https://evidencebasedbirth.com/evidence-on-induction-for-gestational-diabetes/

I would also try to kick start labor naturally. It's possible that may happen before you have to decide on an induction.
