Just started two days ago. My LO isn’t getting the concept of swallowing as yet. He spits most of it back out. We end up putting the cereal in a bottle ( which the doc said not to do lol) but we can tell he isn’t fulfilled on the milk alone so he really needs it.

Haven't done cereal but we've done some carrots, squash, and peanut butter. My pediatrician wants us to do some meats and beans next. We're gonna try shrimp today.

@Christine try giving him teethers! It'll help with the tongue reflex that pushes stuff out of mouth! (:

Also we haven't done cereal but have done pureed carrots, pumpkin, squash, and prunes (for constipation) only 1 tbs to start once a day.

We have tried with anything that crosses between solids and liquids. My baby is enjoying puréed strawberries, blueberries, unsweetened apple sauce, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, yogurt, etc! We use cereal /rice too but I added the tiniest bit to his milk only at night and he’s began working on teething crisps, yogurt bites and peanut butter

Wow!!! Are all of your babies at the four month mark??? Are they sitting up?

@Christine my baby is almost 5 months! He turns 5 months in 2 weeks! My son is also sitting up and trying to stand up, though he can’t quite crawl or walk yet

Is there like a list of food that you give first before others? Or do you give one at a time before mixing food up

@Andrea my pediatrician said to start out with cereal then every three days introduce one new thing at a time just in case they have an allergy you know what it is

@Elaina Holbrookk okay thanks! What have you giving your little one so far? And do you mix it with your breast milk?

My pediatrician told me to start him off with 2tbsps of cereal in his bottle for 2 weeks then slowly introduce him to the purée or the cereal without so much milk. 4 oz of milk with the 2 tbsp and then did less milk every couple days til I was able to kinda get him used to the thicker stuff then I started with spoon
