Teat size (MAM bottle)

Hi Mommies! My baby is 5 months old and only been drinking about 3-4 oz per feed (formula). She’s been using size 2 teat so we tried a bigger teat (size 3) but she is refusing it. Do you have any advice? How did your LO take a teat size up?

My daughter stayed with size 2 until she was 1. The size 3 is apparently really fast x

@Courtney thank you! How much is your baby taking each feed? I’m really worried if my daughter is taking enough milk. 😔

She’s 1 now, so she doesn’t have formula anymore but I’m sure around 5 months she was having 6oz every 3 hours 🐷😂 but she slept through the night! Also when u start weaning next month it will be extra nutrients x

Are u feeding on demand? She might want little and often, nightmare but works!

Drop back down to size 2! I think 4oz each feed sounds about average but each baby is different! If she’s healthy and putting on weight then I wouldn’t be too concerned :)

She’s at 9th percentile since she was born. I tried EBF but unfortunately my milk supply did not last. She’s on formula milk for a month now, she’s gaining weight but not much and only weighing 5.8kg now. She sleeps through the night otherwise, I feed twice at bedtime to catch up with her feedings.

I've heard so many people say size 3 is way too fast, my girl is nearly 8 months and we tried it and it was too much for her too. Has your baby always been like this or just recently? My daughter often took a lot less milk after a growth spurt and then eventually reverted to normal. I remember the stress the first time though not understanding why she had changed

@Louise yes, she’s always been like this. I think because she got used to not drinking much from when I was EBF not producing much milk. Hopefully, she’ll pick up and drink more.
