Overwhelmed

I’m due in December and I’m feeling very overwhelmed! It’s my first pregnancy and feel very unprepared. I signed up for a birthing class and lactation consultant. I already made my birth plan, starting on our hospital bag., and our nursery is almost complete! But I feel like I don’t have enough things for her. When I look on Instagram and see what women put together I just feel like I’m not doing enough.

Babies actually need way less things than we think do. The overwhelming feeling is normal. I’ve felt the same but after talking with my ob and the birthing class instructor they need safe place to sleep, feeding, diapers/wipes and car seat for safe travel. You seemed to have gotten alot done already and have the basic necessities baby will need.

You are doing enough, as long as you have things to cover her basic needs you should be fine. I had my first baby back in April and I have several things from my baby shower that my son still hasen't needed or used and a few things he hated when trying to get him to use them

Girly you are way more prepared than I was and we made it 😂

With my first I didn’t even have a nursery for him… I had bottles, a pack n play, and diapers and clothes! Honestly you will gather items over time! Take it easy on yourself!❤️

You got this! You need a place for them to sleep, diapers (+rash cream and wipes), a few outfits, stuff to feed in case you aren't breastfeeding and a car seat. Everything else you can get as you find you need it. Nice to have: a swaddle or two and a few blankets. You don't have to have all the teethers and a mobile and tons of toys. Now, making sure you have some easy meals in the freezer or ready to cook or delivery on speed dial is really important. Plus figuring out maybe family or a friend or two that you are good with them coming over and helping do chores to help you so you can focus on cuddling that baby as much as you can.

i wouldn’t go by social media! it’s so hard because it seems like that’s what the whole world is doing and there’s a standard to follow but a lot of the times it’s just unrealistic
