When should I be buying big items?

If you’re buying brand new and not second hand then I’d suggest waiting till after Christmas see what goes on sale, because you might save a lot of money. I’m not buying till January xx

I’m 19weeks today and we already have the big nursery stuff done (cotbed, changing table etc) as we found a great second hand set really cheap online so we nabbed it! Honestly feels really good knowing the nursery is already coming together and there’s still so many small bits to buy that we can split them across the remaining months xx

Yes we already have cotbed and changing table as we were gifted these second hand. That takes a huge weight off! There’s just so much to think about buying it’s quite overwhelming x

@Rosie it really is isn’t it! I made a list at the start of absolutely everything we could think of that we would need and just yesterday we went through it and revised it, noting down exactly what we have so far (including how many onesies/ outfits/ socks/ muslins and ages for everything) then took some of the unnecessary stuff off the list but we also marked which stuff needs to be purchased before baby arrives and what can wait (such as mattress for the cot bed and linens… she will be in a bedside cot for the first six months so there’s no rush for the cotbed to be sorted yet!) Then also marked what items we’re happy to get second hand/ cheap and which ones we would rather get new and invest some ££. It feels much better having it all written down what’s left to get and knowing where we can save some pennies 😍🥰

I’ve had family members recommend to me wait until after Christmas with the sales. Black Friday is also coming up, might have some good deals around that time too!

Whenever you want🥰 I bought everything over the entirety of my pregnancy so I wasn't shorting myself money wise. However I didn't bother buying a monitor or proper cot until baby was months old as it wasn't needed x
