With one nap usually around 12

We’re in this predicament at the minute. She sleeps from 7:15 but waking up at 5:30 for some reason all of a sudden and she only has one- two hours sleep midday, usually one. She used to sleep much better. I do two 07:30am-23:00pm hour shifts a week as well so it’s actually killing me haha x

I would either treat the 5:30 wake up like night time and try to get them back to sleep etc. until at least 6:30ish. Or just add in a second nap that day. The 2-1 nap transition should be fairly gradual and will depend on wake up times etc. Having a short morning nap at around 8/8:30 for 30mins shouldn’t impact the longer lunch nap as it’s not reliving enough sleep pressure but a bit to avoid overtiredness.

@Francesca I feel you!! What do you do on those days?

@Lauren yeah I do try get him down but it’s always unsuccessful. Hmmm not sure he can do two naps today

Currently in the same boat! No advice here but I am beyond tired 🥲

Do something to entertain them until around usual nap time, maybe 11:30... then a slightly earlier bedtime if they're tired. X

@Louise think I’m going to do this today. Just worried it’ll then shift early bedtime and early rise. And the clocks go back soon!!

@Devon I feel you!!

As long as they go to sleep within their normal hour, either a little early or late, it shouldn't have a knock-on effect. My little girl ranges from 5:30-7am wake up and the 7 wake-up isn't after a later bed time at all. I just take every day as it comes and plan from the wake up x
