6 months old, no need for weaning before this unless advised by a health professional

I’m waiting until the new year. He isn’t showing any signs of being ready yet and doesn’t sit up independently either. Doing it too early can have long term effects on gut health too x

I’ve started giving my girl baby porridge in the morning and she loves it , she was due 6th of June but born on the 24th of may🤷🏻‍♀️

The NHS guidance is to wait until 6 months, weaning before this time unless advised by a professional can cause babes to be more like to have asthma, gut issues and obesity later in life.

Baby rice has no nutritional value so it’s good if u need to fill them with calories

We've started weaning early. I think you know as a parent when the time is right. My almost 5 month old struggles to take a bottle and so I panicked and started him on baby banana porridge. He loves it and looks forward to it now. We have also started little tastes of food for an afternoon snack... not much but probably about 10 / 15 small baby spoonfuls... we've had apple, mango, banana and also tried a few of the ready made poaches which are made for 4+ months.. he really enjoyed the pear, coconut milk, banana and baby rice one yesterday. Good luck.. have plenty of bibs ready haha! And we've also started him with his first sippy cup (also from 4+ months old) with a little water in it to go with his solid foods. X

your child, do what you want and think is best, nhs guidelines are known to not always be helpful or give the best advice. most doctors and gps advise different 🥰x
