Anyone's flexible working request been rejected?

As above comment I think they have to at least try to accommodate something it sounds like they’re simply saying no to anything you’re proposing unless you go back to what you were working before ? Are you in the NHSv
Flexible working requests should be considered by companies but unfortunately due to loopholes in the law companies can make your return to work difficult and essentially push you into a position where your requests come second to their bottom line. Essentially if you worked less days or fewer hours then they would need to employ someone else which they don't want to do. If you're part of a Union get in touch and get advice. Or contact ACAS who provide advice on employment law https://www.acas.org.uk/ And also try Pregnant Than Screwed which is an Amaizing charityhttps://pregnantthenscrewed.com/ Contact the orgs above and make sure you have a copy of your contract plus your company maternity and flexible working policies to hand for reference I personally would always appeal. But it's up to you. You never know they may not expect you to push back and you could get the hours you want. All the best 👍🏾
Obviously there's also your own HR dept but they're not alwyss the most reliable or discreet A few other points when contacting the orgs above, has anyone else in the company got a flexible work request approved (maternity or otherwise), does anyone else do compressed hours, whilst you were on Mat Leave how did the company fill your post ie through 1 person, 2 ppl job share etc
Hey fellow dental nurse here Sorry your work rejected your flexible working request Have you put forward half days but sticking with 4 days? Covering busy days/ periods e.g am/pm ? Definitely look into union support as mentioned in the above comment
I may be wrong but I always thought when coming back off mat leave they have to honour new working schedule! But I could be wrong x
