Sterilising

My baby is now 8 months and I’m planning on transitioning onto formula. If I give formula through a sippy cup, do you still need to sterilise it? I was under the impression you do with bottles because the bacteria can get stuck in the teat but I was told it wasn’t needed for cups?

I’m not going to lie I actually stopped sterilising bottles and cup when my baby started eating solids. He’s been 100% okay, I do use a different sponge specifically for his things and make sure it’s cleaned and rinsed properly. I think you’ll be okay

I also stopped steralising at around the 6.5 month mark. She literally licks the floor now 😂 I wash my bottles in very hot / boiling water. X

I stopped sterilising at 6 months on the guidance from my health visitor! Just have a separate washing bowl and sponge and use fairy liquid and hot water and it’s been fine 😊
