How to survive heat

My building shut off AC yesterday and inside my apartment it got to nearly 80 degrees. My baby is a newborn and I've heard the saying "cold babies cry, hot babies die" and I'm really stressed out. Tonight, it's been 77 degrees the whole night even with a fan on and the window open. It's supposed to get up to 80 degrees today so I know my apartment will be really hot. Is there any way I can keep my apartment cool for the baby?? She can only sleep if she's being held, which I'm sure will make her more hot, or if she's swaddled but I feel uncomfortable putting another layer on her. She's been wearing a short sleeved body suit for now. Any advice is much appreciated!!!

Girl same in my building, what’s the point of shutting off the AC if it’s still hot out, keep up with global warming. This October ain’t like the Octobers years ago. Try to keep her hydrated and maybe take her to the mall or museum if you’re able to. We’ve been using the fan to cool down, just two more days of this hopefully!
