Maternity allowance
Does anyone know if you can claim anything more than maternity allowance and child benefit?
For reference I am claiming self employed maternity allowance, my partner is working but we aren’t married and he isn’t down on the maternity allowance paperwork so I’m guessing it wouldn’t be affected by him working.
Compared to how much I used to earn plus recently starting renting somewhere we are struggling with money but I didn’t know if I can claim anything else or if i do would it affect how much maternity allowance I get ?

There’s two calculators you can use, turn2us or entitledto, I’ve always found them very accurate. Theres no harm in applying for UC, and if you do receive it quickly, before baby turns 6 months you can apply for the sure start maternity grant too :)
There is universal credit but its all means tested. You would have to out him down too but you probably can get help. Unless you have more than £12k? in saving.

Have you done the online check for UC? There's a Facebook group, if you give them your details of household income, rent, and all that they will let you know if your entitled to anything x
