Anxiety and low mood

Not sure whether to see the GP. I've always been a tough patient when its come to mental health. Never thought meds worked and therapy is too much effort, moreso now, with baby. Im having panic attacks nearly every day. If i see the gp i want to go in with a plan. I dont know what i want atm.

I went to the health visitor for anxiety and they’ve referred me for therapy, but also my health visitor checks up weekly with me now and they’re referring me to a baby group which is referral only. I want to avoid medication for it if I can and I’ve made that clear. It’s more common than you think. I hope you’re okay! X

I'd say to try and speak to your GP. I spoke to mine and was referred, and I'm currently getting counselling to deal with my anxiety, low mood, etc. My sessions are virtual and only half an hour, so I've managed to fit it around my daughters nap time. x

You can most of the time refer yourself. It’s called talking therapy and they tailor the needs to your lifestyle etc, you have a few assessment calls they go through what’s happening with you and then they help figure a plan of action for you, and if you find it’s not working out they will move you into another option. I’m on an online 5 week course which I do from my mobile weekly which only takes up about 15 minutes of my time.

I'm sorry to hear this but have a lot of experience with panic attacks myself. Please do seek GP help. Meds and therapy have been essential for me. Please message me directly if you'd like to discuss.
