I would say the first 2 months were the most challenging. My little boy had lovely moments but didn't really accept baby was staying for a while. I think girls can be better as they enjoying helping more, get her involved as much as possible. I tell my little boy that his baby sister loves him all the time and she literally does just stare at him (she's now 6 months).
I would try to remember that the baby doesn't have a clue what's going on whereas your toddler does so if there is some moments where you have to choose (and your baby is safe) then go with your toddler. They still need to know that they matter as sharing your attention is the hardest thing for them.
