@Charlotte same here. If he doesn’t eat what I have cooked, I will usually offer an alternative. Maybe yoghurt or small cereal tbh. We need to observe them, it coupd also be that he might not want that or not hungry at the time.
We normally have dinner at 5.30 and put her to bed at 7.30 so if she doesn’t eat dinner then I don’t offer alternative straight away but I’ll give her Weetabix or toast at around 7pm
@Yaz this is what I do also. Thankyou, it’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one!
If my son isn't hungry he won't eat. But if he seems interested in the food but just doesn't like it that's ok. He can have some toast or something. I try to have some foods I know he likes with new foods. He will wake up for milk overnight and won't go hungry anyway. Twice recently he basically had no dinner and was absolutely fine.
We normally give dinner and a bowl of fruit. If she doesn’t eat the dinner there isn’t an alternative but I’ll leave it out in case she wants to go back and graze, as well as giving the usual bowl of fruit
Only what I’d normally give her for dessert, so fruit and/or yoghurt, and maybe slightly more bedtime milk.
