Formula fed babies

Hi ladies! Question, how often are your Formula fed babies eating? My son is 6months 2weeks, and is having a 6oz bottle every 4hrs on the dot 🥲 I mean fussing at 3:30 and screaming for bottle at 4hrs. Is it too much? I tried doing 6oz every 5hrs but he can’t seem to wait that long. I’m concerned about whether it’s too much or not because he’s been pooping ALOT they are pretty solid poops but it’s often enough that we are fighting diaper rash. I’ve been doing what I can but I can’t seem to get rid of it. I wash his butt with coolish water instead of using wipes, I use a fan on his diaper area to make sure it’s fully dry instead of patting or wiping dry, then I alternate between applying diaper rash creams and ointments. Please help. I feel terrible about his little butt. I don’t know what else to do.

My son had a little rash and using organic coconut oil helped as well as desitin .

My 7 month old eats 6-7 oz every 3 ish hours. sometimes earlier sometimes later. She then eats half a container of baby food at breakfast lunch and sometimes at dinner

My kid drinks between 4-8 oz every 4-5 hrs. Formula used to make my daughter poop a lot through the day and because of it she couldn’t use the cheaper diapers, it was name brand or nothing. My son will get constipated sometimes from the formula. I don’t know if this helps but maybe either a different brand of diaper and or a different brand of formula. My niece and nephew have had the same issues, just for some reason they all had different diapers they could use.

My son will be 6 months on the 24th & he eats 6oz every 3-4hrs & sometimes it’s about 2 1/2-almost 3 that he’s screaming for a bottle. He usually eats about 5 bottles a day sometimes 6 bottles depending what time he woke up or goes to bed or if he woke up in the middle of the night & needed a bottle.

My 6 month old eats 8 ounces every 4 hours! (He will go 6 hours if we’re out longer than planned and forgot to pack a bottle) but we try to stick to the 4 hour mark.

My baby is about 6 and half months old now, she’s getting 8oz every 3+ hours, you can always try to start giving him other things, my daughter was eating 8oz every 2 and half to 3 oz on the dot, I have now started giving her baby food with baby cereal in it, bottles with baby cereal in it, and 6oz bottles with baby food, and cereal in it and she normally holds off on food for about 4-5 hours it also depends if she finishes it all.

My 6 1/2 month old is formula fed but only takes a few bottles a day because she is eating purees as well. If your baby is strictly formula then listen to what they need. If they are hungry and actually eating the bottle then every 4 hours should be fine. And about the rash. It is possible that it could be an allergic reaction to the diaper or wiped, my baby just had a rash that seemed to be getting worse and when I called the nurse she said to use an anti fungal cream because it is likely a yeast rash. I tried that and it was noticeably better by the following morning.

Thank you all for the responses so far, helps a lot! He gets puree at least once a day but still asks for his usual bottle with his meals. I’ve tried other diapers and these weren’t giving him issues. He’s using the Pamper swaddlers. Maybe I’ll have to explore a bit again now that he’s pooping a lot more. I’ll definitely have to try the coconut oil. I’m doing frequent changes and applying some sort of diaper rash something at every change. Have made some progress. I guess this is our new normal as far as poop frequency. Thank you ladies 💗

My 6 month old eats 6oz every 2 to 3 hours during the day and she sleeps all night so no bottles during the night.
