Might be a stupid question but…

Legit question my husband asked me and I have no idea what I’d do in the situation!😂 What do you do if out walking with baby (1- 3 months old (like around the park in the carrycot pram) in winter (in England so quite cold in winter!!) and they do a poo or have a blowout? Can you change nappy outside in the cold? Or would you have to go home assp? Or just leave them be til you’re home? We’re due our baby in January and we have a park about 15mins walk from us it would be nice to have a walk down to, walk around the park and back home while I’m on maternity leave, to get out the house etc. But there’s no toilets it’s just a park! Hence the question lol!

I would just change in the pram as quick as possible then wrap them up warm x

I’ve done nappy changes in the park multiple times

If they’re a newborn and it’s extremely cold I would speed walk home to change them.

Is there a cafe in your park? They might have baby changing. Otherwise I would say judge the weather on the day. I wouldn’t avoid going outside on the off chance that your baby has a blowout. It does you both more good to get out and about

If the weather was really cold (like midwinter) and they were a newborn, I’d wait until I got home. However once they’re a little bigger and less sensitive to the cold, I’d change them on a park bench if needed (my first was a Covid baby - we spent a lot of time outside)

What part of England gets extremely cold on winter? Just curious?

@Annie depends on your definition of ‘extremely cold’. However OP said quite cold, which I think you could count all of England as in the dead of winter.

@Lisa ooo sorry my bad 🙄 don't cry

@Annie Odd response. You asked a question and Lisa replied.

lol yeah I’m in the north (northumberland, Newcastle etc) so it’s a bit colder than the south but by ‘quite cold’ I just mean general winter cold in England! Sometimes it’s frosty, scarf and hat weather for example! 😁 Seems like there’s mixed opinions tbh so I’ll just go with my gut haha. Unfortunately no cafe in the park! Just a park with a little lake :)

I would turn the buggy so the wind is behind the buggy, put the hood up to try and shield the wind or try and clip a blanket over the hood and the person changing baby, like a makeshift tent and be as quick as possible, a poonarmie is no ones friends and your little one might be covered. My little boy used to get it all up his back
