Am I a bad parent for putting my daughter in her bouncer and letting her watch dancing fruits just so I can eat and sort her bottles?

Just for context she's 4 weeks old and seems very content.

Why would you be considered a bad parent? How else will you eat and make her bottles?

You deserve a break Mama, it’s fine to distract little one for a bit. Also remember, a bad parent would never care about being one at all - you would never be a bad mum ❤️

Could you put her in her bouncer and let her watch you instead? Babies love watching others

You’re not a bad parent at all. It’s not like she’s hungry or soiled or in it all day. The occasional use to get something done is something we’ve all done. I used to put mine in the swing with some black and white baby sensory videos just so I could get something done in peace!

No you’re not bad at all. Dancing fruit is a saviour at times !

No way anything to keep you sane and be able to do things for you ,as long as baby is safe is fine

Absolutely not a bad parent at all! We’ve all got to eat and clean etc. Dancing fruits is a life saver at times 🤣

You're keeping your baby safe and entertained/stimulated while tending to a basic need of yours and doing a vital task of sorting her bottles - I'm not sure how any of that could be considering bad parenting in any way. You're doing amazing 🤍

Thank you everyone, just felt so guilty that I wasn't stimulating her 😭🥺xx

@Sal ….yah, this was my first thought. Because bad parenting is not giving her the bottle she needs. Bad parenting is not making sure she gets stimulation and play time (the bouncer). Because people think allowing their child to play and explore on their own is a bad thing, when in fact is actually encouraged! And the eating part…that’s a basic need to survive as a human. If you can’t eat and stay alive then you can’t be there to care for your children. You’re doing a fine job girly.

I don’t think you’re anywhere near a bad parent but I don’t think you need to stick them watching dancing fruits either a) It’s good for people to be bored. Kids especially. b) Let her watch you! Life itself is interesting. It might not always feel it but at 4 weeks old pretty much everything is brand new. Disclaimer, we don’t do screens so likely to be biased…

You're doing exactly what you should be doing. You HAVE to and are entitled to taking care of yourself so you can be a good mom. Which means breaks. Don't ever feel guilty. The 10% who said bad mom are probably pregnant with their 1st and have no idea what they're talking about.

I’m jealous that your baby is content. Tell me more about this dancing fruit

@Chandra on YouTube!! Lifesaver

I put my 8 week old in his swinging chair and put fruits on telly so I can eat and do bottles. It's not bad parenting at all xxx
