Mine was always on sick! - They originally didn’t put me on the system I had to phone and ask why has no one been in touch. - At end of pregnancy, I had to have a scan to check baby was head down or not, she never filed it so I was waiting days and had to sort it out directly with another midwife at the hospital. Luckily I did because my baby was measuring small and had to be induced! The only reason my low iron was picked up was because I couldn’t get rid of an infection so a GP had my blood tested, wasn’t midwife
I never had an assigned midwife, saw a different one everytime and I was told I would be seeing a consultant around 12 weeks wasn't sent for it until I was 32 weeks when I finally had a decent midwife who listened to me and I had to battle for the appointment and they still never saw me in the end the appointment was cancelled. I've given birth in 3 different trusts and the community midwifes was the worst of the 3 but the hospital team and birth was the best
I think they’re really stretched. I had my second baby in June, my assigned midwife had left before I had an appointment with her. One of the midwives I saw decided she’d take me on and she was lovely. My assigned midwife from my previous pregnancy in 2021 is still off sick with long covid. I think the midwives are having a really tough time at the moment. I had a home birth and the three midwives that came out to me were absolutely brilliant. I hope you get the care you need xx
Yes! My assigned midwife never replied to my texts when I was concerned about things/asking questions and in my final few weeks I didn’t even realise she had moved area and wasn’t my midwife anymore 😅 only when I went to my first sweep I found out! I assumed she’d atleast text/call to let me know 😅
