What to buy!!

Hey lovely’s, I’m almost half baked now🤰 and I’m just wondering what to be buying? I’ve got Next to me, Moses baskets, Clothes, what are you must haves? Bottle recommendations? Formula recommendations? (I am going to aim to breast feed but keep a tub of formula just incase) 🩵

Ahh, in the same sitch. Following ☺️

MAM bottles are brilliant! Anti colic too! For formula we've gone for aptamil as they say it's the closest to breastmilk. You'll also need a bottle steriliser :) now there's loads of types so depends on your preference. We went for the tommee tippee uv light one that looks like a mini fridge 😂 but it's brilliant! If you're breastfeeding, you might want to look into a pump? If so, storage bags to store milk you've pumped too as you can freeze for later use! Dummies if using? My little one loves the MAM ones. A owlet monitor is brilliant. Have a read on those! Definitely puts my mind at ease overnight!

Stock up on wipes and diapers. And I use Phillip agent bottle with size one nipples

Sleepers!

I used both MAM and Tommy Teppe anti colic bottles. I second the MAM dummies, really good. Muslin cloths are a must. Plastic changing mat, nappy bag, makes life easier. Nappies and wipes in the same spot. Swaddle sleeping bag worked wonders for us. We're on formula since day one and I've been using Cow and Gate. Steriliser and prep machine for when using formula. Changing bag as well

Mam bottles, buy pram ealy so you can pay it off before mat leave. Don't buy lots of diapers!!! Sleep suits and cotton buds for under the beck, pits and other creases. Teething powder, calpol, and a few sensory toys

Swaddles, I used love to dream and they were great! (Used my first babies ones for my second and could’ve still gotten use out of them). Electric nail file, snot sucker, pump, steriliser, breast milk storage bags, hubby also got me a reusable heat/ice gel packs for breasts and perineum and they were a life saver! Bottles - I used dr brown and they were great, dummies if you’re planning to use, paracetamol and ibuprofen, a baby carrier or wrap, swing/rocker, pram, car seat, activity mats, sensory toys/books…..if I think of anything else I’ll come back!

Thanks girls I think I almost have everything then!! Ordering bottles the end of this month, my husbands mum and dad are buying our pram which i am so grateful for, thank you for giving me ideas! (Currently sat with note pad)🤣xxx

Have some ready to drink formula on hand, it's easier and faster than powder if you need it. Later if you have to/choose to formula feed or combi feed tou can get power as you'll have time to prepare the bottles in advance but ready to eat was a lifesaver for me when we first got home and he needed food before my milk came in!

Mam bottles are great size 0/1 teats, can't recommend formula as my little boy is on prescription formula due to CMA. A bouncer, aldi nappies, baby wipes buy in bulk, Steriliser, nuby rapid cools. Thermos flask, Muslin cloths, blankets, bed sheets for mattresses,. Hope this helps xx

Dr brown bottles are great for anti colic - I have 2 for Maeve and use the tommee tippee bottles! I’ve a lot of awful things about MAM bottles melting in the microwave (even though they’re designed for microwave sterilising)🥴 I regret buying SO much baby clothes - as cute as they are my daughter has so much she never got to wear, or only wore once. I am glad I brought LOADS of nappies and wipes though, Maeve is 4 months old and still not ran out of wipes yet - Huggies and pamper aqua wipes work best for us. I wish I brought a few more newborn size clothes / size 0 nappies - I was measuring in 95th percentile whole way through from 22 weeks until last scan at 39 weeks, so was expecting to have a HUGE baby… she arrived at 7lb 9oz at 41+3 weeks 🥴😅xx
