Breastmilk after 1 year

Question for the breastfeeding moms - My boy is eating more and more solids and I feel like he's starting to drop feeds on his own. We have gotten down to about 3-4 feeds this past month but now I'm feeling like he only wants 2-3. I imagine this will continue until he's maybe down to only one feed. In that case, am I supposed to introduce cows milk or something else to supplement? Or does the fact that he's getting any amount of breastmilk mean there's no need to substitute? I'm not sure if there's an ounce limit we're supposed to be meeting of milk of any type after they turn one.

Our pediatrician told us this week that if I'm breastfeeding I don't have to give cows milk, but I might want to start introducing maybe 2 oz a day to get her used to it. As it is they suggest 16 oz max of milk per day (usually in the context of cows milk but not sure if that applies to breast milk too). She said both types of milk are really just beverages, but all nutrition should really be coming from food at this point and to make sure to be giving water throughout the day.
