Breakfast/lunch ideas (no bread)

My 9m old really isn’t bothered about bread/toast/sandwiches/crumpets/breakfast muffin type items. We do porridge and yogurt/fruit. But what other things are people making their LO’s for breakfast and lunch that doesn’t involve bready items? He’s not a fan of scrambled egg either. Leftovers are great but we don’t have them every single day. Thanks!

We do Apple oat bars, banana and oat bars, French toast egg cups xx

What about chia seeds?

Cous cous with pureed veggies?

Eggs in other ways- omelette? Boiled? Pancakes, or too bready? Most of the things we do for breakfast are mentioned above, or are more of a bready texture. Rice cakes or crackers with different toppings, fritters and vegetable tots. My little one is also loving homemade soups at the moment! I’ve been adding in pasta, beans or lentils to some as well which makes them a bit more substantial and filling.

Weetabix, avocado pudding, baked porridge fingers, veggie tots

Ooo what's an avo pudding @CeeCee ?

Weetabix Boiled egg Eggy bread Yoghurt with a Weetabix crumbled in 3 ingredients banana pancakes

@Becka someone on here suggested it to me! the recipe for adults is basically to blend avocado with a dash of lemon juice and sweetener plus some cream or milk, I adapted it to just some avocado and a touch of yoghurt or coconut and a squeeze of lemon juice and sometimes add some banana for extra sweetness, then chill to let it set a little, its lovely, basically just like really creamy avocado mousse/yoghurt but it tastes really nice and my yoghurt addict baby loves it as an alternative to yoghurt x

My little one loves an omelette. But otherwise following as I find it the most difficult meal to get inspo for! X We do lots of egg variations, porridge and fruit / yogurt

My daughter also isn’t huge on bready stuff and I’ve found drained tinned cannellini beans are great! They are soft and bland and easy to pick up and you can stir other stuff into them or add other bits alongside (I’m of the opinion breakfast stuff doesn’t have to be traditional western breakfast food; I just try to cover all the bases). You can even mash them with banana, cinnamon and peanut butter. I always keep cooked green peas in the fridge, so she had those with the beans, grated cheese and pomegranate seeds for breakfast this morning. (I’m aware I don’t get opened to Nigella Lawson for a reason 🤣)
