Stressing about first birthday gifts

Feel like we haven’t got enough gifts for our nearly one year old. We have got small bits like sensory toys, blocks, bubble machine, books etc but not a main present. I keep getting asked what we have bought him and feel like I should buy more. Any ideas?? What have you got your little ones? My parents have bought him a ride on car for around the house x

You got them more than we got our little one! We didn't really get her anything but she did get presents off of family. 🤷‍♀️ I did feel a bit guilty when asked but she doesn't need anything right now.

We haven’t got ours anything really. A couple of new bits of clothes. We’ll have balloons and cake on the day. They don’t really know anything about it so I wouldn’t worry too much about lots of presents

I really wouldn't worry, my son just had his first birthday and we only brought 2 presents nothing major. Everyone else brought him loads so he had plenty. Some of my favourites were play lawn mower, play kitchen items and a dressing gown

Same here Was a bit worried, bought sensory toys and the shape and alphabet blocks and some clothes. I think we buy them gifts every time even without thinking about it, it’s a parent thing. You’ve done well already.

We have bought a second hand little tikes car for £5, please don’t stress whatever you buy they will probably prefer the cardboard box anyway 🤣

We got her first shoes as her main present really. But my parents got her a Yoto Player which we love!

Ride along car, a trike, loads of music books and instructions, bubble machine, soft blocks, a few outfit and maybe first pair of shoes?

Don't stress, tho. I blew up loads of balloons, and my little one preferred the ballons to the presents.

I wouldn't worry. My son turned one yesterday. Had a few presents from us. Nor alot he was interested for a bit then went to play with his usual toys. Glad we didn't get him loads. Overwhelming for them. My older daughter was more excited and playing with them. Next year they get to know more. He had presents from family too. Now it's like where to put them!😅
