Refusing to eat

My little girl is 18 months this month and she has always been a great eater, she is just refusing everything recently! It has got me so worried. Just wondered if anyone else has / is experiencing the same with their little one and any advice x

We are the same, she pushes it out the way. She wont use her fork when she does finally eat either.

Same at my wits end just thrown another meal in the bin! Absolutely dread meal times atm 😩

Same here. One day he will eat & I’m so happy and then the next he will refuse & I’m stressed again! 😵‍💫

Has anyone got any go to meals that we could share with each other that your little one loves?

@Femi ive found snack food goes down better at the moment (will onlu give if she doesnt eat any food at all). She will inhale cubes of cheese, crusty bread, yogurt, weetabix. She ate curry last night but it took a lot of fussing

Any chance her molars are coming out? My son did the same recently then I noticed he was only having yogurt rice pudding weetabix etc only soft stuff he didn’t have to bite or chew and I saw his gums were really swollen and he had 4 molars pushing through so I started giving him soft food instead like spaghetti hoops mash potato anything soft

Yep I agree it’s most likely teething related. Or maybe she has a mouth sore. Just offer lots of softer foods/milk etc xx

@Lauren it’s so frustrating isn’t it! I was always glad that she wasn’t a fussy eater, but now 😅

@Femi I’m the same at the moment, I’m trying to offer different things to usual but it doesn’t seem to be helping at all 😩

@Mya I know she has just cut her canines, I’m not sure about the ones at the very back, she’s very stubborn to let me even get a look! 😂 but I have definitely thought that maybe it’s her teeth. I’m going to try get a look today! Yeah breakfast seems the “easiest” meal for us at the moment, after that I dread meal times 😅

@Femi not a meal suggestion as such but make it fun, we started offering “dip dips” this made it interesting and added extra taste and we found this helped. It doesn’t have to be ketchup or mayo we added a homemade Greek yoghurt dip or a blended salsa type and showed how to dip dip and was shocked by how much this encouraged more eating xx

Apparently at 18month this is normal they start to appear to live on thin air and has unlocked a new stress for me. Go to though is spaghetti bolognaise, eggs in any way and a sausage roll not the most healthy but if it gets her to eat then it’s what she will have
