Combination feeding

My baby is 3 days old, I’m not able to fully breastfeed him but want to make use of it, and add some formula feeds in there. Any good combination feeding routines that helped any of you? 🤍

Curious too! My baby is 2weeks old and going to start combination feeding tomorrow! My boobs can’t keep up with his hunger 😂

Congratulations! I combo feed aswell, so i was taught by the hospital to first give her my milk / breastfeed as it acts like a drink for the baby and then feed w the bottle if she's still unsettled / hungry. Hope this helps ❤️ Goodluck

My daughter was born on Thursday, I too am combo feeding but because I’m having some issues (My breasts are INCREDIBLY painful, especially when she latches), so I tend to breast feed, then use a bottle, then breast feed, then use a bottle, almost like rotating the method of feeding! I have tonight however hand expressed my milk into a bottle, so I may stop combo feeding if I can supply enough and do it that way. Do what’s best for you and your son ❤️

Thank you guys! I’m just worried I’ve got a good supply of milk coming though, but he’s been on formula/colostrum since he was born (Thursday) not sure it’s a good idea to go straight to breastfeeding from formula feeding, hoping to see the midwife soon
